X-Ray Truck Container Scanner

The Madoors USA Madoorsscan M-5800 is a gantry rail type X-ray system that screens whole trucks — cabin included — containers, trailers, and vehicles in a single scan for explosives, narcotics, weapons of mass destruction, contraband, and manifest verification discrepancies, reducing the need for manual inspection while providing detailed radioscopic images with organic and inorganic material discrimination and atomic number colorization for rapid, reliable results. With an accelerator delivering interlaced energy at 4, 6, and 9 MeV, steel penetration of 320mm to 400mm, throughput of up to 23 trucks per hour, optional simultaneous radioactivity detection for gamma and neutron materials through the MAdoorsRD-100 module, modular relocatable design, remote operator pool capability, and a minimal footprint requiring minimal external infrastructure, the M-5800 integrates the most demanding international security screening requirements in a system designed for ease of operation.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Madoorsscan M-5800 uses a linear accelerator delivering interlaced energy at selectable levels of 4 MeV, 6 MeV, and 9 MeV — the interlaced energy delivery alternates between two energy levels within a single scan, providing simultaneous high-energy penetration images and low-energy material discrimination images from a single scan pass. This interlaced dual-energy approach delivers both the penetration depth required for dense cargo and the material discrimination required for threat identification in the same scan without requiring a second pass or separate imaging mode selection.

Steel penetration capability ranges from 320mm at lower energy settings to 400mm at the 9 MeV maximum — providing the penetration depth required to image through the steel walls of ISO shipping containers, the steel frame of heavy goods vehicle cabins, and dense metallic cargo loads that would block lower-energy systems. This penetration range covers the full spectrum of cargo and vehicle types encountered at border crossings, port container terminals, and military checkpoint applications.

Throughput is up to 23 trucks per hour — appropriate for the primary mission of container and heavy goods vehicle scanning at high-traffic border crossings and port terminals where the inspection of each vehicle must be completed within the time available in the vehicle flow without creating unacceptable queuing. The gantry rail design allows the X-ray portal to travel along its rail while the vehicle is stationary — or the vehicle to drive through while the gantry is stationary — providing configuration flexibility for different site layouts.

The optional MAdoorsRD-100 radioactivity detection module provides simultaneous X-ray and radioactivity inspection — detecting gamma radiation and neutron emissions from radioactive materials within the container or vehicle at the same time as the X-ray scan is performed. This simultaneous dual-modality inspection — X-ray imaging plus radioactivity detection — in a single scan pass provides comprehensive WMD threat detection without any additional inspection time per vehicle.

The modular design allows the system to be relocated — adapting to the customer's specific site requirements as checkpoint locations change, as seasonal or operational traffic patterns shift, or as the system needs to be repositioned within a facility or transferred to a different site entirely.

KEY FEATURES
Single Scan — Whole Truck Including Cabin
The M-5800 screens the complete vehicle — truck cabin, chassis, and cargo container or trailer — in a single scan pass. Cabin inclusion is a critical security capability because smuggled persons, drugs, and weapons are frequently concealed in the cabin sleeping compartment, floor cavities, fuel tanks, and structural voids of the truck cab rather than exclusively in the cargo area. A single scan covering the complete vehicle length eliminates the need for a separate cabin inspection and reduces total inspection time per vehicle.

4/6/9 MeV Interlaced Energy — 320mm to 400mm Steel Penetration
The 4/6/9 MeV interlaced energy accelerator provides the penetration power required for heavy goods vehicle and container scanning — with steel penetration from 320mm to 400mm covering the full range of container wall thicknesses, vehicle structural steel, and dense metallic cargo encountered at commercial freight checkpoints. Interlaced dual-energy delivery provides both penetration and material discrimination from a single scan — eliminating the throughput cost of sequential multi-energy scanning.

23 Trucks Per Hour — High-Throughput Border & Port Screening
The 23 trucks per hour throughput rate provides the inspection capacity required for high-traffic border crossings and port container terminals where uninspected vehicle flow creates both security gaps and commercial delays. At 23 trucks per hour, the M-5800 inspects one truck every 2.6 minutes — compatible with the vehicle flow rates of active commercial border crossing lanes without creating significant queuing or commercial disruption.

Organic & Inorganic Material Discrimination — Atomic Number Colorization
Atomic number-based colorization distinguishes organic materials — explosives, drugs, tobacco, and concealed persons — from inorganic metals and non-metallic inorganic cargo in the radioscopic image. This color discrimination directly supports the primary mission threats — organic explosive substances and concealed persons are displayed in a different color from metallic cargo and vehicle structure, allowing the operator to rapidly identify suspicious organic density objects within the cargo volume.

Optional RD-100 Simultaneous Radioactivity Detection — Gamma & Neutron
The optional MAdoorsRD-100 module adds simultaneous radioactivity detection — gamma radiation and neutron emission — to the X-ray scan without any additional inspection time. This simultaneous dual-modality capability directly addresses the WMD detection mission — radiological dispersal devices, smuggled radioactive materials, and nuclear weapon components are detected by the radioactivity sensors at the same time as the X-ray image is produced, providing comprehensive WMD screening in a single scan pass.

WMD, Explosives, Narcotics & Contraband — Comprehensive Threat Coverage
The M-5800 provides comprehensive threat coverage across the full range of smuggling and terrorism threats — explosives and IED components detected through density and shape recognition, narcotics detected as organic density masses, WMD components detected through X-ray imaging and optional radioactivity detection, contraband detected through manifest verification comparison, and weapons detected through metallic object shape and density recognition.

Manifest Verification — Reducing Manual Inspection
The M-5800 X-ray image of the cargo contents can be compared against the declared cargo manifest — identifying discrepancies between declared and actual cargo that indicate smuggling, undeclared goods, and customs fraud. Manifest verification through X-ray imaging directly reduces the need for manual container opening and physical cargo inspection — maintaining customs compliance verification at significantly higher throughput rates than manual inspection allows.

Graphic User Interface — Easy Operator Operation
The MAdoors graphic user interface provides an intuitive, easily navigated operator workstation for X-ray image analysis — with image enhancement, zoom, colorization, organic stripping, and measurement tools accessible through the graphical interface without command-line or specialized operator training requirements. Easy operation reduces the operator training time required for new personnel and maintains consistent image analysis quality across all operators regardless of individual experience level.

Remote Operator Pool — Team Size Optimization
The optional remote operator pool capability allows X-ray images to be transmitted to a remote pool of specialist operators for analysis — allowing a smaller on-site team to be supplemented by remote expert analysts, enabling specialist analyst teams to be shared across multiple scanning locations from a central analysis center, and maintaining continuous expert analysis coverage across shift changes and peak traffic periods. This remote pool option directly optimizes the total operator team size required for the complete inspection operation.

Modular Relocatable Design — Site Flexibility
The modular construction of the M-5800 allows the system to be disassembled, transported, and reassembled at a new location — providing deployment flexibility for temporary inspection operations, seasonal checkpoint shifts, and facility layout changes that require scanning portal repositioning. Minimal footprint and minimal external infrastructure requirements reduce the civil works needed at each deployment location.

Minimal Footprint — International Security Standard Compliance
The minimal footprint design requires less site space and infrastructure preparation than conventional large-format container scanner gantries — allowing installation at constrained checkpoint sites where larger systems cannot be accommodated without major civil works. Despite the minimal footprint, the M-5800 integrates the most demanding international security screening requirements — satisfying WCO, WCO SAFE Framework, and national customs and border security inspection mandates.

DEPLOYMENT CONFIGURATIONS
Gantry Rail Stationary — Vehicle Drive-Through
The gantry rail portal remains stationary on its track while the truck drives through the scanning gate. Standard configuration for permanent checkpoint installations with established vehicle approach lanes.

Gantry Rail Mobile — Vehicle Stationary
The gantry travels along its rail while the truck is stationary in the scanning position. Used where vehicle positioning in the scan lane is preferred over vehicle movement through the portal during scanning.
