The electromagnetic tyre killer integrates with Madoors USA bollards, road blockers, and gate systems to form complete high-security vehicle access control checkpoints.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Madoors USA Electromagnetic Tyre Killer operates through an electromagnetic drive system with mechanical counterweights — the electromagnetic actuation provides the high-speed spike raise and lower capability, while the mechanical counterweight system provides the force balance required for reliable, consistent spike deployment and retraction across the full barrier length. Open and close working time is 1 to 2 seconds — the fastest available spike barrier cycle time in the Madoors USA range.
Steel spike height is 80mm above ground level in the raised position — providing sufficient penetration depth into the tire sidewall for immediate and complete tire destruction of all vehicle types including heavy trucks attempting unauthorized entry. The spikes rise from ground level on the electromagnetic actuation command and return to the flush ground position when the command is reversed.
PLC control manages all operational functions — spike raise and lower commands, automatic closing time from 1 to 120 seconds, motorized working time from 1 to 20 seconds, sensor inputs, and all access control interfaces. IP67-rated PNP limit switches provide water and dust-resistant position sensing for all-weather reliable operation. Hot-dip galvanization provides long-term corrosion resistance in outdoor installation environments.
Standard lengths of 2,000mm, 3,000mm, 4,000mm, 5,000mm, and 6,000mm cover the full range of single-lane and multi-lane vehicle exit road widths. Photocell and loop security sensors provide vehicle detection and safety obstruction sensing. Remote control buttons provide wireless operation from a guard station or remote control point. Cable-connected start, stop, and emergency stop buttons provide hardwired control as standard. Automatic closing time is fully adjustable between 1 and 120 seconds to match the vehicle spacing and traffic flow profile of each specific installation.
KEY FEATURES
1 to 2 Second Open & Close — Ultra-Fast Electromagnetic Operation
The 1 to 2 second open and close cycle time of the electromagnetic tyre killer is the fastest available spike barrier deployment speed — significantly faster than hydraulic and pneumatic alternatives that typically require 2 to 3 seconds or more. This ultra-fast cycle time is achieved through the high-force, rapid-response electromagnetic drive system, and is the defining operational advantage of the electromagnetic tyre killer for high-throughput vehicle exit control applications where slow barrier cycle times would create vehicle queuing and operational disruption.
Electromagnetic Drive — Mechanical Counterweight Balance
The electromagnetic drive system provides rapid, high-force spike actuation with the immediate response characteristic of electromagnetic mechanisms — faster and more responsive than hydraulic or pneumatic systems at equivalent barrier lengths. The mechanical counterweight system balances the spike mass throughout the raise and lower travel — reducing the electromagnetic force required for spike actuation and maintaining consistent, reliable deployment performance across the full barrier length and across all ambient temperature conditions.
Fully Operational After Impact — Sustained Security Guarantee
The electromagnetic tyre killer is designed to remain fully operational after sustaining vehicle impact — with the spike mechanism, drive system, and structural frame continuing to function at the full security level after a hostile vehicle contact event. This post-impact operational capability ensures that the security perimeter is not compromised following a vehicle intrusion attempt — the barrier continues protecting the exit immediately after the incident without requiring repair or replacement.
80mm Steel Spike Height — Immediate Tire Destruction
The 80mm above-ground steel spike height provides reliable, immediate tire sidewall penetration for all vehicle tire types — from passenger car tires through to heavy truck tires attempting unauthorized entry at the tyre killer position. The 80mm height ensures that the spike tip penetrates above the tire bead contact zone into the tire sidewall, achieving complete and immediate deflation that immobilizes the vehicle within meters of the barrier.
Exit-Only One-Way Operation — Unauthorized Entry Prevention
The electromagnetic tyre killer is specifically configured for one-way exit control — allowing authorized vehicles to exit the supervised area over the lowered spikes while preventing unauthorized vehicle entry from the exit side through the raised spike array. This one-way operational mode is the standard configuration for company parking exits, hotel vehicle exits, convention center vehicle control, and any supervised area where controlled exit and prevented unauthorized entry are simultaneous requirements.
Integration with Bollards, Road Blockers & Gates
The electromagnetic tyre killer is designed for integration with Madoors USA bollards, road blockers, and gate systems — forming complete multi-layer vehicle access control checkpoints where the tyre killer provides tire destruction deterrence, the road blocker provides certified crash-rated physical stopping, and the gate or bollard provides the primary authorized vehicle access management. Multi-system integration achieves the highest available security level at vehicle access control points.
Automatic Closing Time 1 to 120 Seconds — Adjustable
The PLC-managed automatic closing time is fully adjustable between 1 and 120 seconds — allowing the delay between authorized vehicle detection and spike raising to be precisely matched to the vehicle length, convoy spacing, and traffic flow profile of each specific installation. Short closing times maintain maximum security between individual vehicle passes. Longer closing times accommodate convoy operations and extended vehicle movements without false closures.
Motorized Working Time 1 to 20 Seconds
The motorized operating time of 1 to 20 seconds is adjustable for the specific motor and barrier length configuration — providing the correct activation duration for each installation's electromagnetic drive specification.
IP67 PNP Limit Switch — All-Weather Position Sensing
IP67-rated PNP limit switches provide completely sealed, water and dust-resistant position sensing for the spike raised and lowered positions — maintaining reliable position detection in all outdoor weather conditions including rain, standing water, and dust contamination that would compromise standard IP-rated limit switches.
Hot-Dip Galvanized — Long-Term Corrosion Resistance
Hot-dip galvanization of the complete barrier structure provides comprehensive corrosion resistance throughout the outdoor installation service life — covering all external surfaces, cut edges, weld zones, and internal structural members with the galvanized coating that prevents rust and structural degradation in the wet, contaminated, and salt-exposed environments of outdoor vehicle access control installations.
Five Standard Lengths — 2,000mm to 6,000mm
Five standard lengths from 2,000mm through to 6,000mm provide complete coverage of single-lane and multi-lane vehicle exit road widths — from narrow single-lane exit roads at compact commercial premises through to wide multi-lane exit roads at large commercial facilities and industrial sites. Custom lengths outside the standard range are available for project-specific road width requirements.
PLC Control — Fully Programmable Operation
PLC control manages all tyre killer operational functions — spike deployment timing, automatic closing, motor timing, sensor integration, and access control interface commands — with full programmability for the specific access control protocol and traffic management requirements of each installation. PLC control also provides the system integration capability required for combined tyre killer, bollard, road blocker, and gate checkpoint configurations.
2-Year Warranty — Manufacturer Quality
All Madoors USA Automatic Electromagnetic Tyre Killer systems carry a 2-year manufacturer warranty confirming product quality and operational reliability. Manufacturer-direct supply ensures that warranty claims and technical support are managed by the design and production team with direct knowledge of the product specification.
