The Madoors USA K12 Crash Tested Sliding Gate is a certified hostile vehicle mitigation sliding gate system rated to K4, K8, and K12 crash test levels — including K12 PAS 68 N3 certification — stopping a 15,000 lb (6,800 kg) vehicle at 50 mph (80 km/h) with no significant damage to the gate. Available in five gate models with clear openings from 3,657mm to 9,144mm (12 to 30 feet), standard height of 2,769mm (109 inches), electromechanical or hydraulic drive at typical speeds of 18.3 meters per minute, and 14 architectural decor options — the Madoors USA crash-rated sliding gate combines certified K12 hostile vehicle mitigation with aesthetic design flexibility for airports, embassies, government buildings, warehouses, and security-critical facilities worldwide.
Anti-terrorism, anti-crowd, and anti-pedestrian intrusion protection are all addressed in a single gate system — with a positive latch pin securing the gate against mob forced entry, built-in IR safety beam, inductive safety loops, safety edges, PLC Inteli Gate control with touch screen panels, data logging, and programmable maintenance functions. A full site risk assessment is required at design stage, and CCTV, traffic lights, and inductive loop systems are strongly recommended where the gate control point is remote from the installation.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Madoors USA K12 Crash Tested Sliding Gates are certified to K4, K8, and K12 crash test levels and PAS 68 — covering the full range of hostile vehicle impact classifications from K4 (15 mph) through to K12 (50 mph) for a 15,000 lb test vehicle. PAS 68 N3 certification confirms stopping of the heaviest test vehicle class at 50 mph with no significant gate damage.
Five gate models are available covering different operating mechanisms, foundation requirements, and site conditions. Most models operate without ground contact across the opening — the gate slides on overhead or side-mounted support without bottom track contact with the road surface, eliminating the track maintenance and debris accumulation issues of ground track systems. One model is a manually operated swing gate for infrequent use applications. Other models operate with rack and pinion drives across V-groove wheel ground tracks.
Clear opening widths range from 3,657mm to 9,144mm (12 to 30 feet), covering the full range of vehicle lane widths at security facility entrances. Standard height is 2,769mm (109 inches) for all models except the swing gate variant. Custom heights are available where specific anti-climb or architectural requirements demand dimensions outside the standard specification.
Drive system options cover fully manual operation for infrequent use locations, electromechanical rack and pinion drive sized to the specific gate power requirements, and hydraulic drive for high-power and high-speed applications — including shared hydraulic pump operation with road blocker and bollard systems at facilities using multiple hydraulic hostile vehicle mitigation products. Typical drive speed is 18.3 meters per minute depending on electrical supply and gate length.
The shallow foundation design enables one-day installation at most sites — minimizing the civil groundworks requirement and the operational disruption of installation at active security facilities. The positive latch pin system secures the gate in the fully closed position against mob and crowd forced entry attempts — providing anti-crowd control protection in addition to the primary vehicle crash certification.
KEY FEATURES
K4, K8 & K12 — PAS 68 N3 Triple-Level Certification
The Madoors USA crash-rated sliding gate is certified at K4, K8, and K12 levels — with K12 PAS 68 N3 certification representing the highest available hostile vehicle mitigation rating for sliding gates. K12 certification confirms the gate stops a 15,000 lb vehicle at 50 mph with no significant structural damage to the gate — allowing the gate to remain fully operational for continued access control after sustaining a maximum-rated vehicle attack.
No Significant Damage After K12 Impact
Unlike barrier systems that are rendered inoperable by a successful vehicle impact, the Madoors USA K12 gate sustains no significant damage from a 15,000 lb vehicle impact at 50 mph — remaining structurally intact and operationally functional after the crash event. This post-impact operational capability is critical for facilities that must maintain controlled access immediately after a vehicle attack without waiting for gate repair or replacement.
Five Gate Models — 12 to 30-Foot Clear Openings
Five different gate models cover the complete range of security facility entrance widths — from 3,657mm (12 feet) for standard vehicle lane access points through to 9,144mm (30 feet) for wide industrial, airport, and port facility entrances. Model selection ensures that any facility can specify a gate configuration that precisely meets its security and operational requirements.
No Ground Contact Option — Track-Free Operation
Most Madoors USA crash-rated sliding gate models operate without contact with the ground across the opening — eliminating the bottom track maintenance, debris and ice accumulation, and road surface damage issues of conventional bottom-tracked sliding gate systems. Track-free operation provides long-term reliable performance at outdoor security installations without the regular track cleaning and maintenance overhead of ground track alternatives.
14 Architectural Decors — Security Without Compromise
Fourteen decor options — green landscaping, screen printed glass, steel screen, back-painted glass, laser cut steel in two versions, panelized colored acrylic, panelized stone, panelized concrete, cast stone, wood and stone, panelized wood, and wood screen — allow architects and contractors to specify a K12 crash-rated gate that complements the architectural character of the surrounding facility without the institutional security appearance of conventional crash-rated barrier systems. This aesthetic range covers corporate campuses, government buildings, diplomatic facilities, and heritage sites where visual design is as important as security performance.
Positive Latch Pin — Anti-Crowd Control
The positive latch pin system secures the gate in the fully closed position against the sustained pushing force of a crowd attempting to force the gate open — addressing the mob and crowd intrusion threat that is distinct from vehicle attack and is not addressed by crash certification alone. This anti-crowd latch function makes the Madoors USA gate a complete perimeter security solution covering both vehicle and crowd intrusion threats.
PLC Inteli Gate Control — Touch Screen, Data Logging & Programmable Maintenance
The PLC Inteli Gate control system with touch screen control panel provides plug-and-play installation, network connectivity for remote monitoring and management, data logging of all access events and gate operations, and programmable maintenance scheduling. This advanced control platform allows the gate to be managed as part of a networked facility security management system with complete operational audit trail capability.
Universal Access Control Interface
Hold-to-run push-button control is standard with full customization available for any access control system — inductive loop systems, card readers, biometric readers, communications equipment, and manned guard panic systems can all be accommodated. This universal interface flexibility ensures that the K12 gate integrates seamlessly into any existing or new facility access control infrastructure.
Built-In Safety Systems — IR Beam, Safety Edges & Inductive Loops
Built-in IR safety beam, safety edges, and inductive safety loops are integrated into the gate system as standard — providing obstruction detection throughout the full gate travel range and preventing gate contact with vehicles or personnel in the travel path. These integrated safety systems meet all control and safety requirements without requiring separately procured and installed safety hardware.
Electromechanical, Hydraulic & Manual Drive Options
Three drive system options serve different application requirements. Electromechanical rack and pinion drive for standard commercial and institutional security installations. Hydraulic drive for high-power, high-speed applications and shared pump operation with road blockers and bollards at multi-system hydraulic security installations. Fully manual operation for low-frequency use locations where motorized drive is not required.
Shallow Foundation — One-Day Installation
The shallow foundation design minimizes excavation depth and concrete volume, enabling most installations to be completed in a single working day — reducing the civil works cost, installation disruption, and operational downtime associated with conventional deep-foundation crash-rated gate installations.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION SEQUENCE
Site Risk Assessment & Gate Model Selection
A full site risk assessment is conducted — confirming vehicle threat classification, required K level, opening width, available foundation depth, drive system preference, and access control interface requirements. The appropriate gate model, clear opening width, decor option, and drive system are confirmed. CCTV, traffic light, and inductive loop recommendations are documented for remote control point installations.
Foundation Design & Excavation
Shallow foundation positions for the gate post, track — where applicable — and drive unit are designed to the structural requirements of the K12 crash certification. Foundation excavation is completed to the confirmed shallow depth. Electrical and hydraulic supply conduit routing is installed during foundation works.
Foundation Concrete & Track Installation
Reinforced concrete foundations are cast with anchor bolt positions for gate post and drive unit fixed to the confirmed installation engineering drawings. V-groove ground track is installed where specified. Foundation concrete achieves full design strength before gate installation.
Gate Leaf & Drive System Installation
The crash-rated gate leaf is installed in the confirmed model configuration — cantilever, ground track, or swing. The electromechanical or hydraulic drive system is connected to the gate leaf and the electrical or hydraulic supply. Gate travel, drive engagement, and limit positions are set and verified.
Safety System Installation & Calibration
Built-in IR safety beam, safety edges, and inductive loop detectors are installed and connected to the PLC control system. Safety sensor detection and response — gate halt on obstruction detection — are tested and calibrated.
Positive Latch Pin System Installation & Testing
The positive anti-crowd latch pin system is installed at the gate closed position and tested for correct engagement on gate closure and release on authorized opening command.
PLC Control System & Access Control Commissioning
The PLC Inteli Gate control system is commissioned with touch screen panel setup, network connectivity configuration, data logging initialization, and programmable maintenance schedule setup. All access control interfaces are connected and tested across the full range of credential and command types specified for the installation.
Certification Documentation Handover
K4, K8, K12, and PAS 68 N3 crash test certification documentation is compiled with site risk assessment records, installation drawings, commissioning test results, and one-day installation completion documentation.
