The Madoors USA Gaff Barrier Mini Road Blocker is a compact, floor-embedded, hydraulically operated circular rising barrier system — designed in the form of a circular mushroom-shaped shield that rises from the ground in a circular motion to prevent vehicle passage at high-security access points. With a compact floor installation box of 60 × 28 × 55 cm, a shield radius of 550mm rising to 450mm above ground level, 20-ton minimum load capacity, ST 37 steel construction, microprocessor CPU control, and CE, TSE, ISO, and AIDA certification, the Gaff Barrier provides a high-security, aesthetically minimal vehicle barrier solution that is fully embedded in the floor surface and invisible when in the lowered position.
Multiple Gaff Barrier units can be operated in combination using group relay cards — with simultaneous operation across any number of units and continued operation of all remaining units if one or more units fail. The system includes phosphorescent warning film, red LED flashing warning lights in darkness, 50-watt fixture lamps for night illumination, and compatibility with photocells, traffic lights, loop detectors, remote controls, proximity card readers, and programmable timers.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Gaff Barrier Mini Road Blocker operates on 220V AC / 50Hz power with a 0.75 kW electric motor driving a hydraulic system that raises and lowers the circular shield. Opening and closing speed is 10 to 15 seconds. In the event of power failure, the barrier can be manually descended using a key — maintaining access management capability without electrical supply.
Shield specifications: radius 550mm, width 200mm, height above ground in open position 450mm, shield thickness 6mm, side thickness 4mm. The circular shield rises from the floor-embedded housing in a circular rotating motion — the slice-of-cake shape rotating around the central pivot describes the distinctive circular arc rising mechanism that gives the Gaff Barrier its unique vehicle-stopping geometry. The 20-ton minimum load capacity allows heavy vehicles to be stopped by the raised shield without structural failure of the barrier mechanism.
The breakaway engine mounting stud protects the motor and chassis from damage when the barrier sustains a heavy vehicle impact — the stud breaks under overload conditions, preventing damage propagation to the engine and structural components and allowing the engine to be replaced without chassis replacement.
All mechanical components are electrostatically powder painted in yellow, red, blue, or orange. Phosphorescent warning film on the body charges in daylight and emits a red flashing warning in darkness — supplemented by metal body LED red flashing warning lights. 50-watt fixture lamps on the front of the barrier provide illumination in both daylight and nighttime conditions.
The microprocessor CPU architecture manages all operational functions — hydraulic pressure adjustment in both raise and lower directions, programmable motor protection with automatic shut-off, automatic closing direction selection, adjustable timer, and LED operating status indicators. All electronic components are housed in PVC IP65 water, moisture, and dust-resistant enclosures. Cable entries use removable connectors for easy maintenance access. Separate fuses for motor and 24V AC power circuits provide individual circuit protection.
The engine removal design allows the complete engine group to be removed from inside the barrier body through the maintenance access cover without dismantling the barrier from the floor — significantly reducing maintenance time and cost for engine service and replacement.

Redundant Multi-Unit Group Operation
Multiple Gaff Barrier units operate in simultaneous group coordination using a group relay card — any number of units can be combined to block wider vehicle access points or create barriers at multiple positions simultaneously. ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION SEQUENCE
Floor Preparation & Box Excavation
Floor excavation is completed to the 60 × 28 × 55 cm box dimensions at the specified installation position. Electrical conduit routing from the power supply to the box position and cable connections to all peripheral accessories — photocells, traffic lights, loop detectors, remote control receivers — are installed during floor preparation.
Barrier Box Installation & Anchoring
The Gaff Barrier housing is installed in the prepared floor excavation and anchored. Box level and alignment with the surrounding floor surface are verified.
Hydraulic System & CPU Connection
220V AC power supply is connected to the PVC IP65 electrical box. Hydraulic system pressure is set in both raise and lower directions. CPU microprocessor parameters — motor protection timing, auto shut-off, automatic closing direction, and timer — are programmed.
Peripheral Device Connection & Group Relay Card (Multi-Unit)
All specified peripheral devices — photocells, traffic lights, flashing lamps, loop detectors, remote control receivers, proximity card readers, and timers — are connected to the CPU via removable cable connectors. For multi-unit installations, group relay cards are connected between all CPU units.
Phosphorescent Film & Warning Light Verification
