TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Madoors USA Bulletproof Swing Gate and Door is certified to the following EN 1522 European ballistic protection levels.

BR4 — protection against 9mm submachine gun fire. Suited to banks, cashier areas, and commercial security installations where submachine gun and handgun threats are the primary concern.

BR5 — protection against 5.56mm assault rifle rounds. Suited to government buildings, embassies, and institutional security installations where assault rifle-caliber threats must be addressed.

BR6 — protection against 7.62mm × 39 assault rifle rounds. Suited to military support facilities, diplomatic installations, and government high-security buildings in elevated threat environments.

BR7 — protection against 7.62mm × 51 NATO rifle rounds — the highest standard ballistic protection level, covering military rifle calibers. Suited to military installations, embassies in high-threat locations, correctional institutions, and critical government facilities where the highest available certified ballistic door protection is required.

Standard door dimensions are 2,040mm height × 820mm, 870mm, or 920mm width × 50mm thickness. Custom sizes are available on request. Panel thickness ranges from 50mm to 85mm depending on the ballistic protection level specified. The door core is a solid bullet-resistant material packed in concrete within a steel sub-frame, providing the structural mass required for certified ballistic performance across all four protection levels. The standard exterior finish is 2mm stainless steel. Alternative finishes include zinc, galvabond, laminate, ply, and MDF — covering a full range of aesthetic and environmental requirements for internal and external installations.

Hinge options include 100mm × 100mm butt hinges in a set of four, and continuous piano hinges for maximum load distribution across the full door height — with hinge selection based on door weight, swing frequency, and operational load requirements. Single and double width configurations are available. Two-way swing capability provides egress in both directions from a single door position, supporting life safety code compliance for occupied secure facilities. Automatic motorized operation is standard, with custom hardware and locking mechanisms available to suit any access control specification.

KEY FEATURES
BR4, BR5, BR6 & BR7 Ballistic Certification
The Madoors USA Bulletproof Swing Gate covers all four upper EN 1522 ballistic protection levels — BR4 through BR7 — providing certified protection from submachine gun fire at BR4 through to 7.62mm NATO rifle rounds at BR7. This complete upper protection level range allows a single product family to serve all high-security ballistic door requirements from commercial banking environments through to military and embassy high-threat installations.

Solid Bullet-Resistant Core Packed in Concrete
The door core construction — solid bullet-resistant material packed in concrete within a steel sub-frame — provides the structural mass and ballistic energy absorption required for certified ballistic performance across all four protection levels. Concrete packing adds compressive mass that arrests projectile penetration and distributes impact energy across the full core cross-section, while the steel sub-frame provides the structural rigidity required for reliable hinge, locking, and swing operation under the heavy loads of concrete-filled ballistic panel construction.

50 to 85mm Panel Thickness — Protection Level Matched
Panel thickness ranges from 50mm at lower protection levels through to 85mm at BR7, with the specific thickness determined by the ballistic engineering requirements of each protection level. This thickness range accommodates the additional ballistic mass required at higher protection levels while maintaining standard door frame and hardware compatibility across the full protection level range.

2mm Stainless Steel Finish — Standard
The standard 2mm stainless steel finish provides a premium surface appearance appropriate for embassies, corporate headquarters, banking institutions, and government buildings — presenting a professional, high-quality exterior that does not externally signal the presence of ballistic protection. Stainless steel also provides corrosion resistance for external installation without surface treatment maintenance.

Multiple Finish Options — Internal & External Applications
In addition to the standard stainless steel, zinc, galvabond, laminate, ply, and MDF finish options cover internal applications where a specific aesthetic character — wood-like, painted, or decorative — is preferred over the stainless steel exterior. This finish flexibility allows the bulletproof door to blend with the surrounding interior or exterior design without visual disruption, supporting the covert protection principle for installations where ballistic protection should not be externally apparent.

Smoke & Sound Resistant
In addition to ballistic resistance, the door provides smoke and sound resistance — complying with life safety smoke containment requirements at occupied secure facilities and reducing sound transmission between secure and general access zones within the same building. Combined ballistic, smoke, and sound resistance in a single door assembly simplifies specification and eliminates the need for separate acoustic or smoke containment door products at security-critical openings.

Automatic Motorized Operation
The motorized automatic swing gate provides consistent, reliable automated opening and closing under access control system command — eliminating the physical effort required to manually operate heavy ballistic door panels and ensuring that the door opens and closes correctly on every cycle regardless of the operator's physical capability or the door's weight and thickness.

Optional Bullet-Resistant Glass Vision Panel
An optional bullet-resistant glass panel is available for integration into the door leaf, providing protected visual observation of the space beyond the door before opening — a critical safety feature for guardhouse, control room, and security checkpoint applications where verification of the identity and intent of persons requesting access is required before the door is opened.

Two-Way Swing — Egress Compliance
Two-way swing capability allows the door to open in either direction from the same hinge position, providing bi-directional egress compliance for occupied secure facilities where life safety code requirements mandate that occupants can exit through the ballistic door in an emergency regardless of which side of the door they are on when the emergency occurs.

Single & Double Width Configurations
Single width and double width configurations are available — single leaf for standard personnel access openings and double leaf for wider openings requiring vehicle access or high-volume pedestrian throughput. Frame selection covers both single and double width configurations with the same ballistic core and finish options.

Custom Hardware & Locking Mechanisms
Most hardware and locking mechanisms can be fitted upon request — including high-security mortise locks, electromagnetic locks, electromechanical strikes, access control card readers, biometric scanners, and panic hardware. This hardware flexibility allows the door to be integrated into any access control system specification without constraining the locking mechanism choice to a proprietary hardware range.

Four Butt Hinges or Continuous Piano Hinge
Hinge options — 100mm × 100mm butt hinges in a set of four or continuous piano hinges spanning the full door height — provide structural support matched to the door weight, swing frequency, and operational load profile. Continuous piano hinges distribute the door weight across the full height of the frame, eliminating point load concentration at discrete hinge positions and extending hinge service life for high-cycle applications.

Standard & Custom Sizes
Standard sizes of 2,040mm × 820mm, 870mm, and 920mm cover the most common single personnel door opening widths. Custom sizes are available for non-standard openings — ensuring that the certified ballistic protection performance is maintained across any door dimension without compromising the structural integrity of the ballistic core at non-standard panel sizes.

Suitable for Internal & External Use
The door is suitable for both internal and external installation — with finish and hardware selection adapted to the specific environmental and operational requirements of each position. External use requires corrosion-resistant finish selection — stainless steel, zinc, or galvabond — while internal use allows the full finish range including laminate, ply, and MDF for aesthetic integration with the surrounding interior design.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION SEQUENCE
Opening Assessment & Specification
Opening dimensions, swing direction — single way or two way — leaf configuration — single or double — ballistic protection level, finish, hardware, locking mechanism, and motorized operation requirements are confirmed. Custom size requirement is confirmed if opening dimensions fall outside standard sizes.

Frame Installation
The steel sub-frame is installed in the prepared structural opening and anchored to the surrounding wall structure. Frame plumb, level, and alignment are verified. Hinge mounting positions — butt hinge or continuous piano hinge — are verified against the door leaf weight and the confirmed hinge specification.

Door Leaf Hanging & Hinge Fitting
The concrete-packed bullet-resistant door leaf is hung on the installed frame hinges. For butt hinge configuration, all four 100mm × 100mm hinges are fitted and verified for even load distribution. For continuous piano hinge, the full-height hinge is fitted and adjusted for correct door leaf alignment across the full swing arc.

Motorized Drive System Installation & Connection
The automatic motorized swing drive is installed at the specified mounting position on the door frame or adjacent wall structure. The drive is connected to the door leaf at the specified pivot arm connection position. Power supply and control wiring connections are made. Drive travel limits for full-open and full-close positions are set and verified.

Locking Mechanism & Hardware Installation
The specified locking mechanism — mortise lock, electromagnetic lock, electromechanical strike, or other — is installed and connected to the access control interface. Panic hardware, handle sets, and other specified door hardware are fitted and verified for correct operation with the motorized drive system.

Optional Vision Panel Installation
Where a bullet-resistant glass vision panel is specified, the panel is installed in the door leaf at the specified position. Panel framing, edge sealing, and ballistic continuity between the panel edges and the surrounding bullet-resistant core are verified.

Smoke Seal & Sound Reduction Verification
Perimeter smoke seals and sound attenuation seals are inspected for continuous contact across the full door perimeter in the closed position. Smoke and sound reduction performance are verified against the specified performance requirements.

Operational Testing & Certification Handover
Complete operational testing is conducted across all motorized swing, locking, access control, emergency egress, and manual operation functions. BR4/BR5/BR6/BR7 ballistic certification documentation is compiled into the project handover package alongside installation records and maintenance schedule.
