The Madoors USA Beam Crash Barrier is a hot-dip galvanized, semi-rigid W-beam and box beam guardrail barrier system certified to M50, K12, and PAS68 crash test standards — engineered for perimeter security around buildings and critical facilities, protection against heavy tonnage vehicle attack, and industrial estate, car park, and warehouse vehicle hazard protection. Available in standard W-beam guardrail configuration and heavy-duty box beam configuration, with manufacturing options in custom lengths and heights, the Madoors USA beam crash barrier provides certified hostile vehicle mitigation and asset protection in a quick-assembly, long-service-life galvanized steel system suitable for any perimeter or facility protection application.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The W-Beam guardrail system consists of a steel W-beam rail element — 3mm thick W-shaped profile — mounted on steel posts measuring 75mm × 150mm at 5mm thickness, spaced 2 meters center-to-center. The rail is positioned 70cm above ground level, providing the optimal impact height for vehicle containment. Steel spacers at 75mm × 150mm × 5mm are installed between rail and post. Double W-beam configuration conforms to IRC 5-1998 standards, providing enhanced protection with dual rail elements on the same post system.
The Madoors USA box beam crash barrier is 3,500mm in overall length with an effective protection length of 3,200mm per section. Joints between sections are secured using 8 No. M16 × 35mm lap bolt sets. Barrier-to-post fixing uses 1 No. M16 × 50mm post bolt set per post. Mid-span slots in all crash beams allow additional posts to be installed at the mid-span position where maximum structural strength is required. All barriers are assembled with the overlap in the direction of traffic flow, preventing vehicles from striking exposed section ends during a collision event.
All materials are hot-dip galvanized, providing long-term corrosion resistance and weather protection with minimal maintenance requirements across the full outdoor service life of the installation. The system holds M50, K12, and PAS68 crash test certifications — independently verified performance against the most widely specified international hostile vehicle mitigation standards.
Untensioned safety barrier systems are not suitable for highway applications. The Madoors USA beam crash barrier is specified for off-road industrial, commercial, and perimeter security applications.
KEY FEATURES
M50, K12 & PAS68 Crash Test Certified
The Madoors USA Beam Crash Barrier holds independently verified crash test certifications to M50, K12, and PAS68 — the three primary international hostile vehicle mitigation standards. M50 certification confirms resistance to a 6,800 kg vehicle at 80 km/h. K12 certification satisfies US Department of State high-security vehicle barrier requirements. PAS68 certification meets the UK and internationally recognized vehicle security barrier standard. Triple certification eliminates the need for separate barrier products at installations where multiple national or institutional certification standards are simultaneously required.
Heavy Tonnage Vehicle Attack Blocking
The certified crash-rated performance of the beam barrier system allows it to function as both a safety guardrail and a hostile vehicle mitigation barrier — blocking heavy tonnage vehicle attacks against buildings, facilities, and critical infrastructure perimeters in the same installation that protects against accidental vehicle intrusion. This dual-function capability provides security and safety protection from a single barrier system without requiring separate hostile vehicle mitigation and guardrail installations.
W-Beam Semi-Rigid Construction — Motorist & Property Protection
The W-beam profile provides semi-rigid impact behavior — absorbing and distributing vehicle impact energy across multiple post spans rather than concentrating load at the point of impact — reducing the severity of vehicle redirection and minimizing damage to both the impacting vehicle and the protected asset. This semi-rigid response characteristic is the defining safety performance of W-beam guardrail systems for motorist hazard shielding and property protection applications.
Double W-Beam Configuration — IRC 5-1998
The double W-beam configuration provides enhanced impact resistance through dual rail elements mounted on the same post system, conforming to IRC 5-1998 standards for increased protection requirements — suited to higher-risk road edge and facility perimeter applications where single W-beam performance is insufficient for the specific vehicle speed and weight profile.
Box Beam Configuration — Industrial Asset Protection
The heavy-duty box beam configuration provides robust protection for industrial buildings, warehouses, car parks, and commercial facilities against damage from moving vehicles, forklifts, and material handling equipment — protecting valuable stock, building structures, and facility infrastructure from collision damage in active vehicle movement environments.
3,500mm Section Length — Modular Scalable System
Each box beam section provides 3,500mm overall length and 3,200mm effective protection length, with bolt-connected joints allowing barrier runs of any total length to be assembled from standard sections. This modular scalability allows the system to be configured for any perimeter length, corner geometry, or building protection layout without custom fabrication.
8 × M16 × 35mm Lap Bolt Joint — Structural Integrity
Section-to-section joints are secured with 8 No. M16 × 35mm lap bolt sets, providing a structurally reliable, mechanically positive joint connection that maintains barrier continuity and load transfer capability across the full assembled barrier run under both normal vehicle impact and crash-rated loading conditions.
Mid-Span Slots — Post Reinforcement Capability
Mid-span slots in all crash beam sections allow additional posts to be installed at the mid-span position between standard end posts, increasing the structural strength of individual sections where the specific installation geometry or vehicle impact risk profile requires enhanced resistance beyond standard post spacing performance.
Traffic-Direction Overlap Assembly — Exposed End Protection
All barriers are assembled with section overlaps oriented in the direction of traffic flow, ensuring that vehicle contact with the barrier during a collision event engages the overlapping face of the joint rather than the exposed end of the upstream section — preventing vehicle snagging on exposed ends and maintaining barrier effectiveness throughout a collision sequence.
Hot-Dip Galvanized — Long Service Life
All W-beam rail, post, spacer, and box beam components are hot-dip galvanized, providing comprehensive corrosion protection for long-term outdoor installation in the exposed environments of industrial estates, car parks, road edges, and facility perimeters — delivering extended service life with minimal maintenance requirements and preserving both the structural performance and crash rating compliance of the barrier system across its operational life.
Quick & Easy Assembly
The barrier system is designed for quick and easy assembly using standard bolt fixing tools — no specialized installation equipment or skills are required for standard installation. Section-to-section lap bolt joints and barrier-to-post bolt fixings are straightforward to install and tighten, supporting rapid barrier run assembly by general construction or site maintenance teams.
Custom Length & Height Manufacturing
Barrier sections and posts are available in custom lengths and heights to match the specific dimensional requirements of each installation — providing configuration flexibility for non-standard perimeter geometries, specific vehicle impact height requirements, and installation environments where standard dimensions are not appropriate.
ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION SEQUENCE
Site Survey & Layout Planning
Barrier run geometry, total length, post spacing, section overlap direction relative to traffic flow, and any mid-span post reinforcement positions are planned. Custom length and height requirements are confirmed. Corner and end treatment positions are identified. Crash certification compliance requirements for the specific application are confirmed.
Post Foundation & Installation
Post positions are marked at 2-meter center-to-center spacing along the barrier run. Post foundations are excavated or driven to the specified depth for the ground conditions and vehicle impact load requirements. Posts are set plumb and aligned. For box beam configurations, post-to-barrier bolt positions are verified against the beam mounting height specification.
Spacer & Rail / Beam Installation
For W-beam systems, steel spacers are mounted to the post faces at the specified height positions. W-beam rail sections are positioned against the spacers and secured to the posts using the specified post bolt fixings. For box beam systems, beam sections are mounted directly to post faces at the specified height and secured with post bolt sets.
Section Joint Connection
Adjacent beam or rail sections are overlapped in the direction of traffic flow and connected with 8 No. M16 × 35mm lap bolt sets per joint. Joint bolt torque is verified to the specified installation setting.
Mid-Span Post Installation (Where Specified)
Where enhanced structural strength is required, additional posts are installed through the mid-span slots in crash beam sections. Mid-span post foundations are prepared and posts are installed, aligned, and connected to the beam through the slot positions.
End Treatment Installation
End treatments and transitions are installed at all barrier run terminations to prevent vehicle snagging on exposed beam ends and to provide safe terminal geometry for vehicles that leave the intended traffic path and make contact with the barrier run end.
Final Inspection & Torque Verification
All lap bolt joints, post bolt fixings, and end treatment connections are inspected and bolt torque is verified across the complete installed barrier run. Galvanized coating condition at all site-cut or drilled surfaces is inspected and touch-up treatment is applied where required to restore corrosion protection.
