Aircraft Hangar Doors

Madoors USA Bi-Parting Automatic Aircraft Hangar Door Systems are motorized, multi-section sliding hangar doors engineered for corporate, FBO, charter, and airline hangars — manufactured in sizes up to 50 meters wide by 15 meters high and built to withstand massive wind loads and severe weather conditions. Available in bi-parting, unidirectional, individually operated, 3-way traveling group, and anchored group configurations, Madoors USA aircraft hangar doors are designed and manufactured to meet project-specific structural, operational, and architectural requirements, including full retro-fit capability for existing hangar structures.

By working closely with architects, contractors, and building owners, Madoors USA engineers a hangar door system that precisely matches the opening dimensions, header deflection requirements, operational cycle demands, and pocket space constraints of each individual project.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Madoors USA aircraft hangar doors are manufactured in sizes up to 50 meters wide by 15 meters high as standard, with custom sizing available for non-standard opening dimensions. Each door section is bottom-rolling and top-guided, with true telescoping top roller assemblies fabricated to tolerate virtually any header deflection requirement — a critical capability for large-span hangar structures where header movement under load is a design factor.

The motorized drive system is mounted internally on the leading door section of each configuration. Non-powered door sections are interconnected to the leading section via a bumper pick-up system or cable-reeving opening and closing system — both options are available to suit project-specific operational preferences. The electric motor single-lever disengage completely separates the motor drive assembly from the drive wheel, allowing full non-powered manual operation without requiring release of the electric motor shaft brake.

Factory-installed dual opposing bulb vertical weather seals are fitted to each door section, providing significantly superior all-weather sealing performance compared to single or dual-flap weather seal systems. Poly foam filled vertical weather seal bulbs deliver tight, reliable sealing under wind pressure, temperature variation, and sustained weather exposure. Internal wiring to the powered door section is completed and tested at the factory prior to shipment, reducing on-site electrical installation time and ensuring verified electrical integrity before the system reaches the job site.

Top guides and quick-set bottom rails are shipped in factory-fabricated sub-assemblies with bottom rail forms included in every project. Bottom rails are grouted around the rail head on installation. Door sections are delivered to the job site in factory-fabricated sub-assemblies for quick assembly and straightforward installation.

DOOR SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONS
Bi-Parting Configuration
The bi-parting aircraft hangar door is the most widely specified configuration. Doors open from the center, with between one and five door sections on each side. Each leading door section carries its own internally mounted electric motor drive. When fully open, door sections stack in the two side corners of the hangar. Pocket space requirement is determined by the number of door sections per side.

Unidirectional Configuration
The unidirectional system opens entirely in one direction — either left or right — with up to six door sections controlled by a single electric motor drive mounted on the leading section. The primary operational advantage over the bi-parting system is that only one corner is required for pocket space, providing greater architectural flexibility for hangars where one side corner is obstructed or unavailable.

Individually Operated Configuration
Each door section operates independently via its own drive system, providing maximum operational flexibility for hangars requiring partial opening of specific sections without moving the full door assembly.

3-Way Traveling Group Configuration
Door sections are grouped and travel in three directional sequences, allowing multiple opening configurations from a single door assembly — suitable for hangars with complex access requirements or multiple aircraft movement patterns.

Anchored Group Configuration
Selected door sections are anchored at fixed positions while others travel, providing a hybrid configuration that balances open span with structural anchoring requirements for large or complex hangar openings.

KEY FEATURES
Sizes Up to 50m Wide x 15m High
Madoors USA aircraft hangar doors are manufactured in sizes up to 50 meters wide by 15 meters high, covering the full range of corporate, FBO, charter, and airline hangar opening dimensions. Custom sizing is available for non-standard structural openings.

Telescoping Top Roller Assemblies
True telescoping top roller assemblies are fabricated to accommodate virtually any header deflection requirement, ensuring smooth and reliable door operation across the full travel range even under the structural movement loads generated by large-span hangar frames.

Dual Opposing Bulb Vertical Weather Seals — Factory Installed
Factory-installed dual opposing bulb vertical weather seals deliver dramatically superior all-weather sealing performance compared to single or dual-flap alternatives. Poly foam filled weather seal bulbs maintain tight, reliable sealing under sustained wind pressure, driving rain, and temperature cycling — providing long-term performance reliability across the service life of the door system.

Internally Mounted Electric Motor Drive
The electric motor drive system is mounted internally on the leading door section of each configuration, protecting the drive assembly from weather exposure and impact damage while maintaining a clean external door profile suitable for corporate and aviation facility aesthetics.

Bumper Pick-Up & Cable-Reeving Options
Non-powered door sections are interconnected to the leading section via either a bumper pick-up system or a cable-reeving opening and closing system. Both options are available, allowing the interconnection method best suited to the specific door configuration and operational cycle requirements to be selected.

Single-Lever Motor Disengage — Non-Powered Operation
The electric motor single-lever disengage completely separates the motor drive assembly from the drive wheel, enabling full non-powered manual operation without requiring release of the electric motor shaft brake — a critical operational backup for power failure or emergency access scenarios.

Factory-Completed Internal Wiring & Testing
All internal wiring to the powered door section is completed and tested at the factory before shipment, ensuring verified electrical integrity on arrival at the job site and reducing on-site electrical installation time and associated labor costs.

Factory-Fabricated Sub-Assembly Shipment
Top guides, quick-set bottom rails, and door sections are all shipped to the job site in factory-fabricated sub-assemblies, with bottom rail forms included in every project. This approach significantly reduces on-site assembly time, minimizes installation errors, and supports straightforward installation by the site construction team.

Bottom Rail Grouting
Bottom rails are grouted around the rail head during installation, providing a stable, permanent rail foundation that maintains consistent door tracking geometry and smooth rolling operation across the full service life of the door system.

Massive Wind Load Resistance
The Madoors USA hangar door system is engineered to endure massive wind loads and withstand severe weather conditions — a fundamental performance requirement for large-span hangar doors exposed to open airfield environments where wind loading is a primary structural design factor.

Retro-Fit Capability
Madoors USA aircraft hangar doors can be retro-fitted to existing hangar structures, allowing facilities with aging or failing door systems to upgrade to the full Madoors USA motorized system without requiring structural modification of the existing hangar frame.

Custom Engineering — Architects, Contractors & Owners
Madoors USA works directly with architects, contractors, and building owners to engineer a door system that meets the specific dimensional, structural, operational, and aesthetic requirements of each project. Custom configurations, non-standard opening sizes, and project-specific technical requirements are all managed through Madoors USA's engineering team.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION SEQUENCE
Project Engineering & Configuration
Selection Opening dimensions, header deflection data, pocket space availability, and operational requirements are reviewed with the architect, contractor, and owner. Door configuration — bi-parting, unidirectional, individually operated, 3-way traveling group, or anchored group — is selected and engineering design is completed. Drive system interconnection method — bumper pick-up or cable-reeving — is confirmed.

Factory Fabrication & Sub-Assembly
Door sections, top guides, bottom rails, and drive system components are fabricated to project specifications. All factory work is completed in sub-assemblies sized for efficient site delivery and installation. Internal wiring to the powered door section is completed and tested at the factory. Dual opposing bulb vertical weather seals are factory-installed on each door section.

Bottom Rail Installation & Grouting
Quick-set bottom rails are installed along the door travel line using the bottom rail forms included in the project shipment. Rails are positioned, leveled, and grouted around the rail head to establish a permanent, stable rolling surface.

Top Guide & Telescoping Roller Installation
Top guide assemblies are installed at the header. Telescoping top roller assemblies are fitted and adjusted to accommodate the measured header deflection profile of the specific hangar structure, ensuring consistent top guidance across the full door travel range.

Door Section Hanging & Interconnection
Door sections are hung in sequence from the top roller assemblies and positioned on the bottom rails. Non-powered sections are interconnected to the leading powered section using the specified bumper pick-up or cable-reeving system.

Drive System Connection & Electrical Commissioning
The internally mounted electric motor drive is connected to the facility power supply. Factory-completed internal wiring is verified on-site. Single-lever disengage operation is tested. Drive system is commissioned and door travel, speed, and limit positions are set and verified.

Weather Seal Verification & Final Testing
All weather seal contacts are inspected and adjusted across the full door closure. Complete operational testing is conducted across all drive and manual operation modes, emergency disengage function, and full open and close cycles under load.
